Théo van Rysselberghe (Gand, 23 novembre 1862 – Le Lavandou, 13 dicembre 1926) è stato un pittore belga, uno dei maggiori rappresentanti belgi del puntinismo. Nel 1887 scoprì le opere di Georges Seurat e si appassionò alla tecnica divisionista; ma alla fine del secolo sostituì il puntinismo dei suoi quadri, con delle composizioni a tocco più ampio, con larghe strisce allungate di colore. Come Seurat e Signac dipinse molti paesaggi marini e realizzò incisioni, sebbene queste ultime siano assai meno conosciute. Etching, circa 1895, without signature. Théo van Rysselberghe (Ghent, November 23, 1862 - Le Lavandou, December 13, 1926) was a Belgian painter, one of the greatest Belgian representatives of pointillism. In 1887 he discovered the works of Georges Seurat and became fond of the Divisionist technique; but at the end of the century he replaced the pointillism in his paintings, with compositions with a wider touch, with wide elongated strips of color.
