Pubblicata contemporaneamente in francese e in olandese, quest'opera bella e monumentale descrive e raffigura le guerre del principe Eugenio di Savoia, del duca di Marlborough e del principe di Nassau, in Italia, Ungheria, Germania, Paesi Bassi e contro i Turchi. Le mappe incise sono opera di Hubert Iallot, Covens & Mortier, Guillaume de L'Isle ecc. I panorami molto dettagliati di scene di guerra comprendono la bella e famosa serie di Jan Huchtenburg (Huchtenburg, Pinxit et excudit). Il successo del principe Eugenio sul campo di battaglia portò la reputazione dell'esercito austriaco a un punto mai raggiunto né prima né dopo i suoi giorni. La guerra era per lui una passione. Sempre in marcia, negli accampamenti o sul campo di battaglia, per più di cinquant'anni e sotto i regni di tre imperatori, non aveva quasi mai trascorso due anni senza combattere. La stampa risulta quasi identica a quella utilizzata nell’ultima edizione del “Theatrum Sabaudiae” stampata da Rutgert Christoffel Alberts proprio all’Aja 4 anni prima. This fine and monumental work describes and depicts the wars of Prince Eugene de Savoye, the Duke of Marlborough and the Prince of Nassau, in Italy, Hungary, Germany, The Netherlands and against the Turcs. The engraved maps are engraved by Hubert Iallot, Covens & Mortier, Guillaume de L'Isle etc. The very detailed panoramas of war scenes, include the fine and famous series made by Jan Huchtenburg (Huchtenburg, Pinxit et excudit). Prince Eugene's almost invariable success on the battlefield raised the reputation of the Austrian army to a point which it never reached either before or since his day. War was with him a passion. Always on March, in camps, or on the field of battle during more than fifty years, and under the reigns of three emperors, he had scarcely passed 2 years together without fighting. The print is almost identical to the one used in the last edition of the 'Theatrum Sabaudiae' printed by Rutgert Christoffel Alberts in The Hague four years earlier; it differs mainly in the cartouche with the titles in Dutch and French in the lower left corner and in the title of the plan in the lower right corner.
