Acquaforte, 1739, firmata in basso a destra. Da un dipinto di Giovanni Antonio Canal detto Canaletto. Henry Fletcher (nato nel 1710-1750) è stato un incisore inglese. Fletcher lavorò a Londra e produsse incisioni di un certo pregio. Si distinse soprattutto come incisore di fiori, in particolare “The Twelve Months of Flowers” e “The Twelve Months of Fruits”, incisi da disegni di Pieter Casteels, realizzati nel 1730 per una pubblicazione di Robert Furber, noto giardiniere. Tra le altre sue opere ricordiamo “Bathsheba” da Sebastiano Conca e questa serie di vedute di Venezia, incise con L. P. Boitard da disegni di Canaletto. Bellissima prova, impressa ad inchiostro sanguigno su carta vergata coeva, in buono stato di conservazione. Etching, 1739, signed at lower. This remarkable engraving, dated 1739, offers a detailed view of the iconic buildings on the Grande Canal in the Rialto area of Central Venice. The image, skillfully engraved, captures the vibrancy of Venetian life and the architectural splendor of its buildings during the early 18th century. Henry Fletcher (fl. 1710–1750), was an English engraver. Fletcher worked in London and produced engravings possessing some merit. He most excelled as an engraver of flowers, notably The Twelve Months of Flowers and The Twelve Months of Fruits, engraved from drawings by Pieter Casteels, made in 1730 for a publication by Robert Furber, the well-known gardener.
