Di quest’autore, che ha fondato la propria scrittura sui “procedimenti”, inventandone sempre “altri”, il volume attraversa l’ampia produzione letteraria in versi e in prosa, indagando e interpretando strutture e procedure compositive, delineando e mettendo in relazione fasi, evoluzioni, rispondenze interne, fratture, per offrire a studenti, studiosi e lettori una via d’ingresso a testi stranianti, che rompono l’inerzia del linguaggio e i pacati orizzonti di attesa dei fruitori. Il metodo interpretativo privilegia, equamente, la lettura ravvicinata dei testi, la filologia e la ricerca delle fonti, che ha consentito di individuare e commentare alcuni ipotesti.
