First two-volume edition, containing the unabridged text of the original four volumes augmented with revisions from the 1931 re-issue. For this edition, Churchill prepared a new Foreword to Vol. I and an updated Appendix I in Vol. II. In order to achieve the compression, the publishers provided slightly fewer and smaller maps.
