8vo., Second Impression, on laid paper, with portrait frontispiece, plates (2 double-page), 2 full-page maps in the text, 3 large folding maps coloured in outline and endpaper maps in green, some faint and occasional spotting (mainly marginal), top and fore-edge lightly spotted; original green cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in darker green, uncut, joints lightly rubbed (but binding entirely sound), a bright, firm copy. Published a month after the first edition. Frontispiece from a pencil drawing by Dorothy Hawksley. Above-average copy of the author's first published account of her travels, here in the deserts of western Iran. ALL EARLY PRINTINGS ARE SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
