8vo., First Edition thus, title lightly marked; original printed wrappers, sewed as issued, covers lightly age-marked else a very good, clean copy. Hardy's famous poem was first printed in The Times on 24 December 1915 with the express statement 'No Copyright Reserved'. Four days later it was reprinted for private circulation only by E. Williams, antiquarian bookseller of Hove, near Brighton. Purdy, p.175.
