Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased. 384pp. This study traces the personal odyssey of one of Britain's greatest literary figures beginning with his volunteering in WWI. The horrors he told of in his letters started to transform him and ultimately he became one of the most influential voices for peace and disarmament. He was one of the co-founders of the Campaign for Nuclear Disrmament CND.
