København, C. A. Reitzel, 1948. In two volumes. 8vo (27.3 x 17.0 cm). 622 pp.; 308 text figures, 75 plates with explanatory text. Uniform deep blue buckram. Spines with gilt title. Original printed wrappers bound in. = An authoritative, profusely illustrated monograph with excellent, very detailed descriptions. Usually found in wrappers, but this is a very good, bound set. Many text figures are in fact page-sized. Several species are new. Written by the Swedish paleozoologist Erik Helge Osvald Stensiö (1891-1984). Bookplate of Westfield College "Tolle Lege" on front pastedowns, and, apart from a small, gilt number on the lower spines, a tiny, cancelled stamp in title page lower margins, and a label on the rear pastedowns, a fine set.
