Printed errata leaf losely inserted. = A rarely-seen work on the early developmental stages in gastropods, in particular in the genus Crepidula, written by the American biologist and malacologist Edwin Grant Conklin (1863-1952). Later, he wrote more studies based on Crepidula anatomy and ontology. This early work, however, is the rarest, being a reprint from the Journal of the Academy of Sciences of Philadelphia, second Series, Vol. XII Part I. Uncut. Wrappers chipped and frayed at edges; a water stain on the front wrapper and first six text leaves (rapidly diminishing). Otherwise a very good, unmarked copy.
