Descrizione
5 vols., folio; cloth, gilt backs, a fine copy. Project for Historical Biobibliography (PHIBB), University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.The second set of a series intended to provide increasingly complete listings of eighteenth-century printed materials. Complementary to the earlier Subject Catalogue (1979), the present work includes all books listed in the source catalogues as printed in the eighteenth century, wholly or partly in English, or printed in Britain, America or the British Colonies, and all translations from or into English. Also included are most editions prior to 1701 of works with an eighteenth-century imprint, and post-1800 works with false eighteenth-century editions. With over 250,000 entries, this is the fullest separate listing of eighteenth-century British books.
