2 vols., in 1,12mo., with 2 title-vignettes and numerous wood-engravings in the text, front free endpaper mildly foxed, some minimal age-marking; strongly bound in green full contemporary straight-grain morocco, upper boards lettered in gilt, back with four flat gilt bands, uncut, small tears in upper joint and backstrip else a very good, crisp copy. With a contemporary signature on front paste-down, and the armorial bookplate of Sir George John Armytage, Baronet on front free endpaper. Nice clean example of this well-known early reader.
