8vo., First Edition thus, on laid paper, with frontispiece in photogravure (original tissue guard present), free endpapers faintly browned; blue buckram, bevelled boards, upper board with Lawence's 'Phoenix' emblem blocked in gilt, gilt back, blue top, uncut, backstrip very lightly sunned else a near fine copy. First published in Florence in the previous year in an edition of 750 copies with a frontispiece portrait of Lawrence taken at Chaplala in Mexico. See Roberts A57.
