First edition, early printing. 8vo, handsomely bound in full red calf, the boards attractively framed with a gilt chain vine, the spine with gilt stippled raised bands, compartments with central gilt fleur-de-lis and gilt lettering. 308 pp. Most of the textblock is clean and fresh, the prelims with some age mottling and spotting, the binding is solid and strong with a little rubbing to the calf.
