L'autore, ottimo artista di origini savoiarde (Chambery 1753-1811), fu ufficiale di Carlo Emanuele IV, e pubblicò oltre alla presente, altre tre opere analoghe, sulle alpi Retiche, Cozie, Graie e Marittime.
