First edition, 4to (285 x 220 mm), 28pp., 7 engraved plates, neatly rebound in red half morocco over marbled boards, spine gilt, morocco label on upper cover lettered in gilt, a nice copy. Carter was an antiquarian and one of the pioneer scholars of the gothic. BAL 570.
