Sm. 8vo., First Edition thus, with engraved and printed titles, and 6 engraved plates, most plates moderately browned with some offsetting to facing leaves, contemporary inscription on front free endpaper verso; contemporary calf, sides with elaborate frame border in gilt, back with flat bands ruled in gilt, second and fourth compartments with leather labels ruled and lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, neatly rebacked with old backstrip laid down, boards moderately age-marked and scuffed else a good, firm copy. First illustrated edition of Gray's collected poems, including the Elegy and Descent of Odin. Printed for Sharpe by Whittingham at the Chiswick Press. This copy is bound without the half-title which is sometimes present.
