8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, with title in red and black, plates, maps in the text and large folding map at end, neat contemporary inscription on front free endpaper; original purple cloth, gilt back, yellow top, boards lightly faded at lower edge else a very good, bright, crisp, clean copy in dustwrapper, the latter lightly chipped and frayed at edges. Crisp copy of Collis's chronological account of Peking, the Forbidden City, and Chinese dynastic history from the end of the Ming period. VERY SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
