The first volume concerns itself with Brookeís exploits in Sarawak from 1838-42. Brooke attempted to open Borneo for foreign trade and tried to pacify the tribes. Volume two recounts the military exploits of Brooke, Keppel and Sir Edward Belcher. gives a geographical overview of Borneo, and includes accounts of the Dyaks, the aboriginal Borneo Tribes.îóHill.
