Folio broadside printed on both sides (315 x 222 mm), signed and dated at end in letterpress ìChr. Staveley, jun. Leicester, March 10, 1794.î, a very nice copy. Christopher Staveley. Jr. (1759-1827), civil engineer, working out of Melton Mowbray and from 1819 Leicester with one of his major projects was the Leicester Oakham navigation. Here Staveley lays out his objections to the intended Bill for a ìnavigation from Spalding to the Scalp south-east of Boston, and also the line of proposed New River or Cut from Hootonís Gibbet to the Channel at Wybertonís Roads.î Not in Skempton; ESTC locates the BL copy only.
