A very clean very tight copy with slightly marked boards, rubbing to spine ends and corners, dusty page edges, untrimmed fore and lower page edges and bump to lower rear edge. 296pp. The author's account of her travels through India as a missionary and temperance worker from 1890. She tells of the country, its peoples, religions and customs and in detail of the isolation and difficult situation forced on most women from the age of seven. Illustrated.
