12mo., First Edition, with 36 wood-engravings in the text and several blank leaves bound in at end, one of the latter bearing neat pencilled notes in a late nineteenth-century hand, some occasional light spotting as often; mid twentieth-century half calf, marbled boards, gilt top, gilt top, uncut, backstrip faded (but lettering still legible), a very good, clean copy. With the addenda and errata leaf, sometimes missing, and a bookseller's blind stamp on blank preliminary . VERY SCARCE. A second edition was published in 1851. Anderson p.249
