3 Vols., in one, second issue, royal 8vo (235 x 135 mm), [4], 131, [1]; [2], 114; [4], 63, [1]pp., engraved portrait frontispiece, 119 contemporary hand-coloured engraved plates by F. Sansom after Sydenham Edwards, each accompanied by a leaf of explanatory text, plates generally very clean and free from foxing, marbled endpapers, contemporary hand half, upper joint cracked, marbled boards, spine gilt tooled with two red morocco lettering pieces, marbled edges. William Curtis (11 January 1746 ñ 7 July 1799) was an English botanist and entomologist, who was born at Alton, Hampshire. Provenance: Contemporary armorial bookplate of William Bohan.
