Edizione: scarce in such bright condition. during the many years that darwin?s theory of human evolution caused controversy among religious conservatives, scientists, humanists, and the general public, the author devoted much time to plant and mold biology, including insectivorous plants. though far less explosive then the idea of human evolution the work still related to his theory of natural selection, with specific attention paid to the adaptations in plants that allow them to live in difficult conditions. it includes illustrations by darwin himself, along with drawings by his sons george and francis darwin.
