First edition, 8vo (195 x 125 mm), [2] iv, 249, [9, index]pp., printerís woodcut rose device to title page, ink date of publication added to head of title page in a early hand, unobtrusive green blemish to verso of title, some light soiling of text but overall very clean, later full vellum, spine lettered in gilt direct, inner gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, a nice copy. Collection of recipes from the repertoire of John Middleton, chef to the Duke of Bolton, for meat, game, fish, fowl, confectionary, pastries, preserving and pickling. ìThis title-page, in which the emblem of the printer figures so largely, is the favourite of the present compiler among all those of the eighteenth century.îóOxford.
