Large Folio, 207pp., no. 155 of 1020 numbered copies, with 103 illustrs., in the text, 42 coloured plates showing mss. leaves and details of the elaborate capitals or other illuminations, heavy boards, vellum spine. A splendid manuscript facsimile, often known as the ëAlcuin Bibleí, since it was once claimed, by a vendor who hoped to sell it to the King of France, to be the Bible that Alcuin produced for the coronation of Charlemagne.
