Second edition, revised and corrected, 2 vols., royal 8vo (232 x 157 mm), [4], xvi, 720; [4], 596, v, [3]pp., with half-title and title vignette to each volume, 68 lithographed plates, some occasional light foxing, cont. cloth-backed marbled boards, spine faded, leather spine label lettered in gilt, a nice set. This second, and best edition, contains 68 lithographed plates not included in the first edition of 1845. Provenance: Armorial bookplate of Bibliotheque de M. de Barante to front paste-downs, with the library press-mark label. Huth, p. 151.
