Bohemiene disant la bonne avanture

>Incisione a Puntasecca (258x313 mm  e ampi margini), su disegno di Michelangelo Merisi detto Caravaggio, con titolo centrale dentro la battuta "Bohemiene disant la bonne avanture" sotto il quale seguono due righe con indicazioni dell'autore (Caravaggio) , delle misure del dipinto originale, dell'incisore (Benoit) e il numero della tavola, 93; l'opera è tratta dal "Recueil Crozat", un compendio rilegato di incisioni che riproducono dipinti e disegni tra i più importanti presenti in Francia, del 1729. Interessante rame raffigurante una indovina che, con l'indice, tocca il palmo della mano del giovane come diversivo, mentre le altre dita rimuovono delicatamente un anello. Ottimo stato di conservazione.

Drypoint engraving (258x313 mm and wide margins), based on a drawing by Michelangelo Merisi known as Caravaggio, with central title within the plate-mark "Bohemiene disant la bonne avanture" below which follow two lines with indications of the author (Caravaggio), the measurements of the original painting, the engraver (Benoit) and the number of the panel: 93. The work is from the "Recueil Crozat," a bound compendium of engravings reproducing some of the most important paintings and drawings in France, dated 1729. Interesting engraving depicting a fortune teller touching the palm of a young man's hand with her index finger as a diversion, as the others are actually gently removing a ring. Very good state of preservation.
