Cartonnage d'éditeur illustré. Petit-fils et fils de cafetiers sedanais, Georges Delaw s'installe à Montmartre en 1893 où il devient l'un des piliers du Chat Noir, créant des pièces de théâtre d'ombres alors très à la mode. Outre ses collaborations à des revues humoristiques telles que Le Rire, La Vie Drôle ou Fantasio, il reste très attaché à l'illustration d'ouvrages pour la jeunesse.
