THE TRUE FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH, LIMITED, one of 1000 copies preceding the regular trade issue as stated on the Simon and Shuster "Inner Sanctum" limitation page. With titlepage vignette, colour illustrated endpapers of an idyllic forest scene, and over twenty black and white illustrations throughout by Kurt Wiese. 8vo, publisher's original green textured cloth, the spine lettered in gilt. 209 pp. An uncommonly well preserved copy of a book rarely found in acceptable condition. The text is fine and fresh, the paper bright with only a touch of occasional mellowing to ivory at the edges, the binding solid, hinges firm, the cloth bright, the gilt dulled a bit on some letters.
