8vo. 3 pp. on bifolium. Includes a photographic portrait (102 x 145 mm). To Lady Frances Joanna Bunbury: "I must not let this reason go by without sending you my best wishes for you and Bunbury for all earthly and heavenly blessings. We have the Morewoods [?] and the George Herzogs [?] with us, and their four children - which makes a merry party - Charlie Hoare [?] and Kate unluckily could not stay on to meet them as they had Beatrice Hoare[']s wedding to go to. It would have been very nice to have their batches of cousins together. John too was obliged to leave us before Christmas. I think he was going to Ickworth - I heard from Bristol this morning. He tells me he fell into a hard outshooting [?]! I hope he will not catch cold. I had a very pleasant visit to Candringham at the beginning of the month, and met the Waltinghams there among others. Nothing can be more amiable than the Prince & Princess are. I think he is one of the kindest hearted men I ever met - and very quick and intelligent too, very pleasent to talk to because he always listened, understands, and answers to the point. Her manners too are charming - so precise and kind. I was there on her birthday - Her son came over from Cambridge to spend the day. He seems a very quiet amiable youth. He told me he likes Cambridge [.]". - On headed stationery of the Bishop's Palace in Wells stamped in purple, and traces of former mounting verso.
