Descrizione

Exceptionally scarce early and influential work on physics in German. Two parts bound in one volume with all plates as required. All in VG internal order. As well as three fold-out plates, part one also includes three folding sheets containing five data tables. Some toning and occasional light foxing commensurate with age, heavier tanning to endpapers.Title page of first part includes small neat signature (Jayme M Setta?) and small red wax seal JMS. Block edged in red on all sides. Folding tables protrude very slightly. Plate at end of part two folded rather clumsily. Bound in full leather with five raised bands, gilt decoration and titling to spine. Worn at top and bottom of spine, to corners and rubbed elsewhere with small loss of leather to top of front board. Leather cracked along hinges, but binding is firm and holding well. Part 1 280pp + plates; part two 310pp + plate. 12mo. This sale is on behalf of St Peter's Church, Grange Park, London.
