Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - Text Russisch with short summary in english. - Alexander Denisovich Maximov (1 930-1 992) is more often than not associated with an extraordinary local style described as variation on Russian lubok. Group shows under that blanket name were held at the Russian Museum (Leningrad) in 1 977 and the Central House of Artists (Moscow) in 1 984. However, it was not until today that the public at large could acquaint itself with Maximov's works. Their diversity is truly amazing: "Maximov Drawing from Life," "Maximov - Abstractions" and "Maximov, the Genre Painter."
