Sir Busick Harwood was Professor of Anatomy in the University of Cambridge from 1785 to 1814 and simultaneously Downing Professor of Medicine from 1800 to 1814. ìHe demonstrated the transfusion of blood from sheep to blood-depleted dogs under differing experimental conditions. Student annotated copies of the synopsis record relevant comments from all fields of medicine and indicate that Harwood possessed an extensive knowledge of contemporary medical research.
