8vo., First Edition, faint tape marks on endpapers; black cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter with one or two short closed marginal tears and very lightly dust-soiled on (predominantly white) rear panel. The author's first book, a key novel of the 60s, is the basis of John Schlesinger's award-winning feature film (1962) starring Alan Bates and June Ritchie.
